The Restless Mind Behind Adapt Works

I’ve always had a restless mind. It’s something I’ve carried for as long as I can remember; that constant hum of ideas, questions, thoughts that never switch off. As a classic Neurodiverse individual, for years I tried to calm it down, to control it, but eventually I realised it wasn’t something to fight. I just needed to give it direction. That’s how Adapt Works began. I wanted a place where that restlessness could turn into something tangible, and where I could take the noise in my head and turn it into stillness on paper.

I started photographing what caught my attention when I was outdoors: light falling on a hill, the shape of a tree, colours shifting across a skyline. Being outside has always been my way of resetting. There’s something about open air, movement and distance that clears the fog.Over time, those photographs became the foundation of my artwork. I started simplifying what I saw by reducing real places into abstract shapes, finding order in chaos, calm in colour.

Each piece starts with something true and ends somewhere quieter, somewhere more intentional. My art is heavily influenced by mid-century modern design. I love the clarity, the honesty of it — simple forms, strong colour, and a little bit of "who cares, just draw what ya like". It feels like a language that can hold both discipline and emotion at once. That’s the balance I’m always looking for: structured but imperfect, refined but human.

Everything I make is printed as a fine art giclée on Hahnemühle German Etching paper. It’s rich, textured and tactile, made to be lived with, not just looked at. I don’t want my work to feel distant or decorative. I want it to feel real, like it belongs in someone’s space and story.

Adapt Works is still evolving, just like I am. But at its heart, it’s about one thing: finding calm in motion, being able to express my restless mind creatively and finding meaning in the moments most people walk past.
